May 6, 2006 - Adoption Update

We are still waiting for the invitation letter from Kazakhstan. This is the official document from the Kazakhstan Ministry of Education that will allow us to travel. We would have traveled by now if we stayed in Uralsk, but the move to Pavlodar caused us to need a new letter. It has been 6 weeks since we applied, so we're praying that any day we will get the news about the letter.

From that point, we will be applying for an "invitation number" that will take from 4-7 days.
As we get that, we can obtain the Visa and book a flight to Kazakhstan.

Our bags are packed, actually they have been packed for over 2 months now. I "think" we packed all winter clothes, but the weather is starting to warm up over there so we will need to do a little repacking.

Rylee continues to work on the name choices (we gave her a choice of 3 that had been selected by Kim and me. I have a feeling we will be going with Robert Landen Woodard, but we will need to see our child to be sure!

Hello there
Congrats on your adoption of your beautiful child.
We just adopted a little girl from the same baby house in Pavlodar. I am searching for some photos of her as a baby and wonder if you happen to take photos of other children. Please email me at mandihome@mts.net. thanks so much
